Youth Ministry Presents: A Kite Surfing Movie

Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment presents A Kite Surfing Movie, featuring Karolina Winkowska, 3x World Champion in freestyle Kiteboarding; surfer Hassan Mahir or ‘Hantey’ and Abdullah Thasleem. The movie is a Slowtape production on the Raalhu Gudi event 2020.

The trailer released by Slowtape on 24th May features the popular song Udhuhila by Raveo band. It reveals how watchers see kite surfers in the air for a second, but in the mind of the surfer, that beautiful moment lasts minutes. The trailer shows a scene of Karolina floating among sharks on the beautiful waters of Maldives.

First of its kind in Maldives, Slowtape is a video production company that is specialized in capturing action sports. In 2019, the company had also produced video for Maldives Monetary Authority, based on the importance of financially empowering children by teaching them important money matters such as saving, spending and earning.

Raalhu Gudi Camp 2020 held in Goidhoo from 6th to 12th January was extremely special due to the presence of Karolina Winkowska, 3x World Champion in freestyle Kiteboarding. “My main reason for visiting the Maldives was to promote kiteboarding in the little islands and to show the local Maldivian kids how to kite and achieve amazing things within the sport,” she said.
