The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort will also upgrade the festive season as Chef Grégory Doyen, the world renown pastry artist will come with his elegant, sculpture-like desserts, which amalgamate art and gastronomy. Being a part of the Tastemaker Series of the resort, the residency of Chef Doyen will showcase the French artisanship and the ability to express their creativity through a combination of immersive dining experiences.
Chef Doyen was born in Burgundy, France, into a family of artists and thus he got to know the world of pastry at a tender age. He has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants as well as in collaborations with leading luxury brands including Cartier, Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, and Vogue over his 20-year career as a graduate of the revered École Nationale Supérieure de la Pâtisserie. Famous with his so-called fashion-desserts, his work is a blend of sensibility to haute couture and know-how of the French pastry.
Guests will receive a unique masterclass on pastry on December 10, which will provide an invaluable access to the creative mastery of the artist. In the same way, his wonderful collection of desserts will be on display daily at ALBA, the main restaurant of the resort, during the festive season. The peak will be a six-course four-hand dinner with wine-pairing on December 11 at Decanter that will see Chef Doyen and the Executive Chef of the resort.
In this partnership, The St. Regis Maldives will proceed with its culture of bringing together the global culinary skills and artistry. The Tastemaker Series is one of the icons of The St. Regis brand where imagination, connoisseurship, and the art of decadence meet the spectacular backdrop of the Vommuli Island.
