
On 14th March, Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed announced that 3 more resorts have been arranged as quarantine facilities for those locals stranded in Male and is to travel back to their home island. A further 4 resorts - Herethere in Addu, Sun Aqua Iru Veli in Dhaalu Atoll, Fushifaru in Lhaviani, Furaveri Island Resort & Spa in Raa Atoll- have been transformed as quarantine facilities as well.

The 3 resorts will be used to quarantine locals who have been given permission by the government to travel back to their island. The 3 resorts are Hondaafushi Island Resort in Haa Dhaal Atoll, Filitheyo Island Resort in Faafu Atoll and Medhufushi Island Resort in Meemu Atoll.
On 5th May, Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services published an announcement regarding how priority is given to those travelling under these circumstances. Priority will be given to those who arrived Male’ on or after 1st April for a very special purpose.
