Russia's national Airline, Aeroflot is scheduled to resume operations in the Maldives starting next month.
They had canceled their flights due to the conflict happening in the area. But fear not, they will be continuing soon.
According to the Airline, they are set to start up operations in Sri Lanka once again on the 8th of April, and the Maldives will follow soon after.
The Maldivian government, on their side, will have to provide specific permits and assurances to Russia when it comes to resuming operations. These are to be arranged and completed soon so that flights can be scheduled starting mid-April.
Russia is one of the top source markets for tourism in the Maldives. Over 50,000 Russian tourists have visited the Maldives thus far this year. However, statistics have shown that the number of Russian tourists visiting the Maldives has declined since the conflict began.
