Anantara Veli Maldives Resort Re-Opens With Contemporary Settings and Refurbishments

Tucked away among azure waters and home to 67 exclusive villas, the adults-only playground of Anantara Veli Maldives Resort reopened its doors on 1st December 2022. Featuring revamped accommodations including the all-new Beach Villas, redesigned restaurants, and a brand-new facility in the wellness-focused spa, Anantara Veli is all set to indulge guests in the vacation spirit.
Given the pristine splendor of Anantara Veli, the New York-based designer, Yuji Yamazaki was inspired to create a renovation concept that has nature and wellness rooted at its core. As such, he added an additional layer of privacy to the stay experience by opting for self-sufficient villas and spa designs as well as implementing modern takes on no-walls tropical living in the restaurants. Through this, Yamazaki strives to connect guests with the environment while giving them a sense of intimate seclusion.
The Refurbished Villas
Carefully crafted to entertain the inquisitive mind, the Overwater Villas at the resort is a study of serene functionality. Boasting cool powder tones and organic patterns mimicking nature, these private confines come with standalone tubs, blissful outdoor rain showers and a villa host service. Here, traditional merges with contemporary tropical styles by incorporating a natural palette of wood and stone, cool fabrics and rattan finishes while still supporting the latest high-tech comforts.
Moreover, the newly introduced Beach Pool Villas are enclosed by white shores and offer direct access to the beach in a private setting. Sliding glass doors open to a pool flanked by a cushioned day bed and provides an open-air living and dining space while the island-style bedroom is situated amidst lush greenery.
Wellness At Anantara
The resort has been reopened with a brand-new wellness concept where guests can book a tailored Wellness Villa Experience. Elevated by light, sound and scent therapy, the villa is equipped with Ayurvedic spa amenities, earthing mat, and a wellness minibar featuring herbal teas, healthy shakes and wholefood snacks. Guests will also be entitled to daily yoga/personal training sessions, healthy cooking, wellness consultations and 20% off on treatments at the spa.
The bespoke Balance Wellness by Anantara spa brings a new facility with the Moroccan Hammam, immersing guests in authentic treatments with the marocMaroc products. The celebrated 111Skin of Harley Street, London will be utilized in facial and body therapies here too. The Balance Wellness by Anantara comprises of five treatment suites, a nail salon, a medical spa, a Shirodhara treatment bed, a steam room and sauna, indoor and outdoor showers, and a relaxation garden with hot and cold plunge pools.
