This December, The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives is welcoming the world-famous specialist in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Rui Pedro Loureiro to the pristine waters of the resort. Dr. Rui will be taking residency at the luxury resort from the 15th of December 2022 to the 30th of January 2023 and will be offering alternative healing therapies for guests on the island.
A highly motivated and passionate individual, Dr. Rui first began his journey with Chinese Medicine in China where he completed his undergraduate studies at the Chengdu’s University of Chinese Medicine in China. He further built on his skillset by pursuing his postgraduate in Cosmetic Acupuncture from CMIR/ACUMEDIC- London & Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Now a dedicated researcher of Chinese Medicine, Dr. Rui brings over two decades of knowledge and experience to the shores of The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives.
Throughout his career, Dr. Rui has worked in several hospitals and clinics in China and London and is currently posted in Portugal. He is now leading the Chinese Medicine Department of St. Louis Hospital in Lisbon and is the Clinical Director of Clinica Cura Pura in Aveiro, Portugal. His years of clinical practice have seasoned him into an expert in diagnosis and improved his ability to fuse ancient wisdom with contemporary diagnostics.

Acupuncture (60 minutes)
