The luxury resort in Lhaviyani atoll, Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa has announced the appointment of Asaf Tasdan who will be taking on the role of Executive Chef at the property. Under his new position, Chef Tasdan will oversee all F&B outlets on the island resort including the newly renovated Riviera Tapas & Bar.
Chef Tasdan has extensive experience working in the hospitality industry and has filled in numerous positions at luxury properties across the Middle East. This includes appointments at the prestigious The Nile Ritz-Carlton Hotel and JW Marriot Doha.
A pioneer of sustainability, Le Méridien Maldives houses its own ‘The Greenhouse’- a semi-automated hydroponic system that produces fresh, green vegetables for the resort kitchens and neighbouring islands. Spanning 480 square metres in size, it is supported by cutting-edge technologies including an automated irrigation system that captures and recycles rainwater. During his appointment, Chef Tasdan is passionate about curating culinary dishes using fresh produce grown on the island.

At Le Méridien Maldives, guests can explore several gastronomical experiences across its six dining venues, each showcasing a different style of dining from around the world. This includes the Japanese restaurant, Tabemasu, newly refurbished Riviera Tapas & Bar, Latitude, Turquoise, Waves Café and Velaa Bar + Grill restaurant.
