Bank of Maldives has announced positive changes to support Maldivians living abroad by temporarily increasing Debit Card Withdrawal limits and enabling International Transfers from MVR Accounts. ‘We will continue to assess the situation and explore further ways to support you during this period.’
Daily ATM withdrawal limit has been increased to USD 1000 while ATM withdrawal charges have been reduced to MVR 15 per transaction (charges payable to card networks). Customers can continue to use up to USD 600 daily on POS terminals overseas.
Customers can use MVR accounts to make International transfers up to USD 500 per month and SWIFT charges by Bank of Maldives have been waived off. However, respective foreign bank charges will still apply. Further, customers using International Money transfer through BML mobile Pay can also send up to USD 500 per month using their digital MVR wallets.
