Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajida Mohamed are currently visiting India, where they met with notable Bollywood figures to promote the Maldives as an ideal filming destination. The gathering showcased the islands' natural beauty, emphasizing their potential to enhance cinematic productions.
Several Bollywood stars expressed their fondness for the Maldives. Actress Shilpa Shetty shared her experiences, saying, “I have been to many resorts, including Taj and Kanuhura, many times—definitely 10 times now. My kids and I enjoyed every trip to the Maldives. The clean white sand and the sea on the beaches are so beautiful.”
Karishma Kapoor also praised the islands, particularly their stunning beaches. She remarked,“Who doesn’t like a beautiful beach, especially the beautiful beaches of the Maldives? I am very much looking forward to going to the Maldives again soon.”Kapoor viewed the meeting with President Muizzu as an important step for tourism collaboration between the two nations.
Actress Shriya Saran shared her personal connection to the Maldives, recalling, “I was on a boat safari... Deep sea diving is something I love, so it’s a paradise on earth.” She highlighted the significance of the Maldives in her life, where she met her husband.
