This upcoming July and August, COMO Hotels & Resorts are gearing up to launch the much-anticipated Space Summer Camp series for children and teenagers. The exciting new offering led by NASA and Citizen astronauts will be available at selected COMO-branded properties across Thailand, Bali and Maldives, giving avid space explorers the chance to meet actual astronauts who have been to space.
Space enthusiasts between the ages of 8 and 16 can discover space alongside veteran NASA astronaut Nicole Stott and citizen astronaut Sara Sabry. Sara is the world's second Citizen Astronaut, who featured under the Space for Humanity program that aimed to provide all civilians with the opportunity to apply and become trained astronauts. The Space Summer Camp will be offered on a complimentary basis at COMO properties during the astronauts’ residency.
These innovative Space Camps are designed to engage the interest of aspiring young astronauts through a fun-filled itinerary that brings about the right dose of adventure and learning. Little guests can sign up for the camp at any time during the period and enjoy the myriad of activities and space-inspired island experiences offered as part of the camp. This includes thrilling Moon Rock Scavenger Hunts, Blast Off! Rockets made from baking soda, Food in Space, space games and so much more.
At the Maldivian property of COMO Maalifushi, the Space Summer Camp will be hosted from the 28th of July to the 6th of August 2023. This one-of-a-kind experience will welcome Citizen Astronaut Sara Sabry to the island, who also happens to be the first Arab woman in space. Following the resort’s two-week exclusive Island Warriors: Earth Camp, space lovers can embark on another wonderful quest.
Some of the activities featured during Maalifushi’s Space Camp include Spacesuit Design, Beach Clean-ups and an interesting session for creating food for astronauts. Additionally, Sara Sabry will also join island astronauts for a star gazing session and an amusing ‘Movie Under the Stars’ evening. So, don on your spacesuits and get ready to have some space fun this summer!
