According to Ministry of Health’s update on 02 May 2020 - 23:10, total number of confirmed cases in the Maldives have reached to 519, out of which 499 cases are active, 17 have been recovered and 1 death has been recorded. The total cases comprise of more males than females, with a massive difference of 399 cases.
As of 2nd May, 07:00pm, Health Protection Agency confirmed an additional 23 cases of COVID-19 infection in Maldives. The cases: 17 Maldivians, 4 Bangladeshis, 1 Indian and 1 Nepali. This totaled the number of active cases to 514. However, after two hours, an additional 5 cases were reported of 1 Srilankan and 4 Maldivians.

Although the age of 93 cases have not been identified, the most number of confirmed cases belong to the age group of 31-40. This is followed by patients aged between 21 and 30, and 41 and 50. The least number of cases reported belong to age group of 81-100 years.
