The cases were: 34 Bangladeshi, 02 Indians and 08 Maldivians. This makes the total number of total number of cases 618. HPA informs that this includes samples from active surveillance of vulnerable homes.

On 6th April at 11:30am, HPA confirmed an additional case of COVID-19 infection in Maldives of a Bangladeshi national. On 5th April, the Maldivian government recorded its second COVID-19 related death, confirming that a 33-year-old Bangladeshi citizen had passed away. On that day, COVID-19 surveillance updates as of 21:30 revealed that:
There were 22 new cases during the last 24 hours.
Then, there were 573 confirmed cases, 204 locals and 369 foreigners.
A total of 20 patients had recovered, making number of active cases 549.
The country had recorded 2 deaths: 83 year old woman and 44 year old Bangladeshi national.
