Royal Island Resort & Spa, diveOceanus dive center, and Q Adventure watersports collaborated with Amaan Veshi Eydhafushi Orphanage, the Gender Ministry, and the Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve Rangers to organize a fun and educational trip to Hanifaru Bay for the children of Amaan Veshi as part of Villa Hotels & Resorts CSR projects. The field trip, which took place on June 11th, was a huge success because the kids got to swim alongside gorgeous manta rays in their native environment.
The Baa Atoll Rangers shared excellent information and informed the kids about the unique marine life and biodiversity of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, which is marine protected. The kids were given snorkeling instruction and learned directly from the rangers about Hanifaru Bay's unique manta ray hotspot.
The educational tour was part of Royal Island Resort & Spa's annual Green Fest, and it came after the resort's successful reef clean-ups in honor of World Ocean Day. Villa Hotels & Resorts aims to educate the local community about the importance of ocean preservation and sustainability. To prepare the path for a sustainable future, it is critical to educate the younger generation on how to care for and safeguard the delicate maritime environment while also creating a deeper relationship with nature.
