On October 1, 2024, CROSSROADS Maldives celebrated World Tourism Day with a series of engaging events focused on sustainable and regenerative tourism. The festivities kicked off at Hard Rock Cafe Maldives, where esteemed partners and students from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTS) at The Maldives National University gathered for meaningful discussions about sustainability in the tourism industry.
The event provided a valuable platform for aspiring tourism leaders to explore innovative strategies for promoting responsible tourism. Participants engaged in conversations that highlighted how sustainable practices can enhance the Maldives’ natural assets while ensuring their protection. Aligned with Hard Rock International’s “Save the Planet” ethos, this gathering emphasized the importance of nurturing a new generation of tourism professionals committed to sustainable practices.
SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton, also contributed significantly to the World Tourism Day celebrations. The hotel sponsored and actively participated in a Clean-up Campaign in Hulhumalé, organized in partnership with Ghiyasuddin International School. This large-scale cleanup effort showcased CROSSROADS Maldives’ dedication to environmental stewardship and community involvement.
