The Asia Pacific Property Awards designed to celebrate the highest levels of achievement across all sectors of the property and real estate industry has titled the CROSSROADS Maldives as the winner of the “Best Leisure Development Maldives (Five-Star)” Award in the 2021-2022 awards held virtually on May 28. 2021.
Developed by the global hospitality arm of Singha Estate PCL, S Hotels and Resorts, CROSSROADS Maldives is the first spectacular multi-island integrated tourist destination in the Maldives. Having been judged by a panel of over 80 industry experts, the property managed to pass in the aspects of design, quality, service, innovation, originality and commitment to sustainability to win the coveted accolade.
Undoubtedly, its world-class hospitality, fantastic facilities and conservation efforts qualify CROSSROADS Maldives for the well deserved win. Since the property opened its doors in 2019, the breathtaking destination has been offering the most versatile of collections from diverse dining options, retail stores, wellness centres, water sports, diving, kids’ clubs, an oceanfront wedding venue and a 30-berth yacht marina.
Nestled in Emboodhoo Lagoon, CROSSROADS Maldives is an amalgamation of a wealth of world-class facilities for guests of all walks to indulge in a truly inspiring and immersive setting for leisure breaks, vacations and special occasions. From SAii Lagoon Maldives hosting a tropical lifestyle retreat suitable for millennially-minded guests to the iconic music-themed setting of Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, outstanding accommodation options also span into a wide range at the multi-island destination.
What truly sets CROSSROADS Maldives apart however, is its focus on sustainability. From the very beginning of the project, starting with specialist equipment used in the monitoring of underwater environment, it has been a priority to minimize the impact of the construction and activities at the property on the environment. Dedicated activities such as coral propagation and breeding programmes are undertaken by the Marine Discovery team at the resort, who also involves guest participation in the activities by sharing the experience with guests.
These ecological efforts appear to be succeeding; Olive Ridley sea turtles have been seen nesting at SAii Lagoon Maldives’ beach, and pods of dolphin have been spotted near the Hard Rock Hotel Maldives. The Maldives Discovery Centre meanwhile, creates a deep connection with the archipelago’s culture, allowing local people to interact with visitors and generate income by selling authentic arts and crafts.
“We are delighted to have won the ‘Best Leisure Development Maldives (Five-Star)’ title at the Asia Pacific Property Awards.” said CEO of S Hotels & Resorts, Dirk De Cuyper. “This is a wonderful recognition that reflects our tireless efforts to raise the quality of hospitality and tourism in the Maldives, while also actively preserving and promoting its pristine environment.”
