Oman Air Portfolio Expands to Over 80 Destinations with Qatar Airways Codeshare Partnership

Qatar Airways announces its coorporation with Oman Air as the next step taken in further strengthening its network to cover over 80 destinations together. This announcement comes shortly following the agreement made between both airlines on December 2020 to partner for collaborated significant enhancement of services.

With this agreement, passengers on board Oman Air can seamlessly travel to and from 16 new routes* – Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bodrum, Istanbul Sabiha and Izmir in Turkey; Berlin and Munich, Germany; Mykonos, Greece; St. Petersburg, Russia; Zurich, Switzerland; Atlanta and Seattle in USA; Abuja, Nigeria; Johannesburg, South Africa; and Gassim, Saudi Arabia.

The multiple award-winning national carrier of the State of Qatar currently flies to a collection of over 130 destinations from around the globe, with plans to increase to more than 1,200 weekly flights to over 140 destinations by end of July 2021.

Speaking on the agreement between two leading airlines in the Gulf, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker said that Qatar Airways looks forward to further building upon the initial establishment of commercial coorporation with Oman Air from over 20 years ago. The historic partnership has proven to only strengthen over time, offering customers in Oman and across the globe even more benefits.

For Oman Air, much like many other airlines in the post pandemic world, the key to recovery have been strategically collaborating with industry partners and identifying innovative route expansion opportunities. In this regard, Oman Air Chief Executive Officer Mr. Abdulaziz Al Raisi, said, “Oman Air’s expanding partnership with Qatar Airways underscores the commitment of both airlines to provide their guests with more flights, more choice of destinations, and greater flexibility throughout their travels with us.”
