Canareef Resort Maldives is proud to spotlight the remarkable career of its Assistant General Manager, Deepak Kannan, whose extensive experience spans over 20 years in hospitality across some of the world’s most renowned hotel brands and destinations.

Deepak’s journey began in 2000 at Radisson Hotels as a Front Office Agent. His dedication to exceptional guest service quickly propelled him forward, leading him to Dubai’s iconic Burj Al Arab by Jumeirah. There, as a Guest Service Executive, he gained exposure to one of the world’s most luxurious properties, setting a high standard for his career.

Following this, Deepak joined the IHG Crowne Plaza brand, dedicating 14 years to the group. He progressed through several roles, from Front Office Shift Leader to Front Office Manager, across multiple Emirates in the UAE and Oman. This period equipped him with vital leadership skills and operational insight, combining efficiency with deep customer understanding.

In 2018, Deepak took on his first Hotel Manager role at Bin Majid Hotels and Resorts in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, where he played a key role in improving team dynamics and guest satisfaction. His leadership journey continued with General Manager positions at Excelsior Downtown Dubai and Platinum Coast Hotel in Fujairah, refining his strategic approach and people-focused management style.

Deepak’s adaptability was further proven in 2021 when he accepted a consultancy role at a major convention centre in Chennai, India. Here, he helped establish the rooms division and operational processes, showcasing his ability to apply his expertise beyond conventional hotel settings.

Today, Deepak brings this wealth of international experience to Canareef Resort Maldives. His vision for the resort centers on building a strong, people-first culture where teamwork and empowerment create exceptional guest experiences.
