A webinar organized by the High Commission of Maldives in Singapore in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives and National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS) took place yesterday.
The webinar was an important platform for industry stakeholders to inform the Singapore travel trade on the new guidelines and safety protocols in place as Singapore prepares to re-open its borders for the Maldives. The focus of the webinar was to reiterate Maldives’s preparedness and readiness to welcome Singaporean tourists.
The discussion ensued on how a closer relationship could be built between the two countries with regards to travel and tourism.
High Commissioner of Maldives to Singapore, H.E. Ibrahim Shaheeb spoke at the webinar and highlighted the importance of Singapore as a growing potential source market to the Maldives. Joining him were Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation, Thoyyib Mohamed, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Tourism. Dr. Naushadh Mohamed, and President of Guest House Association of Maldives, Mr. Abdulla Nasheed.
Deputy High Commissioner Ms. Eman Hussain delivered the concluding remarks, and stated the participants for facilitating this useful and significant first step towards enhancing B2B relations between the two nations. She said that the Maldives looks forward to welcoming Singapore back to the sunny side of life soon.
