With the appointment of Gavin Sanders as the new General Manager at Radisson Blu Maldives Resort, over three decades of experience comes into action with him. Sanders is a seasoned professional in all areas of hotel management, operations and sales.
Since 1987, Sanders has worked in different capacities, beginning his journey with Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt Hotel in London. Following that, he built his career at Radisson Edwardian Hotel Heathrow from 1989 to 2012, holding various positions until he became General Manager. He managed to bag notable accolades such as Gold Award for Green in Tourism for responsible business initiatives and Gold Award for service levels from Visit Britain during his leadership. Sanders went on to contribute at Radisson Blu Edwardian hotels in New Providence Wharf, Bloomsbury, and Kenilworth afterwards.
Sanders cast a spell in Indonesia by leading Radisson Golf and Convention Centre Batam to be crowned as The Best New Hotel in Asia at the company Asia Awards in 2018, a year after he joined as the General Manager. Now in his new role with Radisson Blu Resort Maldives, he hopes to do the same.
Talking about this role, Gavin said “I am here to give, not to take. Together with the team, I pledge to give the best to the guests, the staff, the local community, the company and the stake holders.”
Among his colleagues, Sanders is well known as one of the most positive and energized people. Building relationships comes naturally to him and he is determined and tenacious while facing challenges and achieving his goals. Sanders is a creative soul who enjoys finding innovative solutions and elevating the level of guest satisfaction, reflected by the positive guest feedback.
Strategizing alongside long-term responsible business initiatives, Sanders will be working on motivating his team to evolve with more facilities and activities for the guests to enjoy, enhanced amenities and services. Ultimately, he envisions Radisson Blu Resort Maldives to become the best destination in Maldives.
