The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has launched an exciting roadshow series in Southeast Asia (SEA), starting with a successful event in Jakarta, Indonesia on July 31, 2023. This roadshow marks the first of three events in SEA and focuses on building strong trade relationships, networking with tour operators and travel agents, and reaffirming SEA's position as one of the top source markets for the Maldives.
With the aim of promoting the Maldives' distinctive products and experiences tailored to the SEA market, the roadshow will continue its journey to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on August 2, 2023, and Bangkok, Thailand on August 4, 2023. The roadshow showcases the offerings of 17 leading companies from the Maldivian tourism industry, including renowned names such as Adaaran Resorts & Heritance Aarah Maldives, Furaveri Island Resort & Spa, and Lily Beach Resort & Spa.
During the Jakarta roadshow, MMPRC conducted a raffle, and the fortunate winner received a complimentary 3-night stay at Adaaran Club Rannalhi. Kuala Lumpur's lucky winner will be treated to a 3-night stay at Adaaran Club Rannalhi and a 3-night stay at Pullman Maldives Maamutaa. Similarly, the raffle winner in Bangkok will enjoy a generous 5-night stay at Furaveri Island Resort and Spa.
SEA holds significant importance as a source market for the Maldives, with a total of 24,573 arrivals from the region recorded as of May 2023. MMPRC's efforts to strengthen the Maldives' presence in the SEA market include participation in major travel fairs like MATTA 2023 in Malaysia and ADEX Ocean Mission 2023 in Singapore. They are also gearing up for upcoming trade shows, including NATAS Holidays 2023 and ITB Asia 2023, with an array of exciting campaigns and activities planned for the rest of the year.
