This special event, part of The Ritz-Carlton Maldives' 'Visiting Heroes' program, is designed to promote environmental education and sustainability.

Guests will have the extraordinary opportunity to immerse themselves in a series of activities, ranging from exhilarating shark snorkeling expeditions to interactive Q&A sessions with Kuguru himself. The residency will kick off on October 2, with an insightful Shark Presentation during afternoon tea at La Locanda. The excitement continues on October 3, as guests embark on a shark snorkeling excursion, followed by a relaxed cocktail hour at Beach Shack. The following day, Kuguru will visit the local island Gaafaru to educate young students about marine life, sharks, and wildlife conservation. The residency culminates with one last snorkeling session before Kuguru's departure.

Gibbs Kuguru is celebrated for his expertise in studying various shark species, including Great White Sharks, Hammerheads, and Sand Tigers. His work is focused on uncovering how these creatures adapt and thrive in the face of challenges like overfishing and climate change.
