Emirates Extends Support for MSME’s on International MSME’s Day!

Monday 27th of June 2022

Emirates is encouraging MSMEs to look for growth opportunities by offering a tempting incentive to new members who sign up for the Emirates Business Rewards program. This is done to honor the United Nations' Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSME) Day and the crucial role that these businesses play in the post-pandemic recovery.

One Economy Class round-trip ticket between the majority of destinations in the Middle East, Africa/WAIO, and Dubai, a city that offers industry-leading support programs and infrastructure for entrepreneurs and SMEs, will cost 10,000 Emirates Business Reward Points as a joining bonus to eligible businesses worldwide who open their first accounts between June 25 and July 10, 2022.

Emirates' offer aims to support MSMEs and acknowledge the crucial role they play in communities, the global economy, and sustainable development. More than 30000 micro, small, and medium-sized businesses are currently signed up for the Emirates Business Rewards program, benefiting from a variety of features like simple sign-up, easy earning and redemption, flexibility, and upgrade opportunities — even on last-minute bookings.

Emirates Business Rewards, which aims to "make business travel seamless," allows businesses to accrue points for business travel that can later be redeemed for upgrades on any Emirates flight, in any class, pending availability.

Every time a company's employees or visitors fly on Emirates, the company is eligible to earn points. These points can then be used to purchase dynamic reward flights and upgrades. If a person is a member of Emirates Skywards, they can also earn Skywards Miles on the same flight. No minimum spend is required, and there is no restriction on how many employees can participate in the program. Free to join, Emirates Business Rewards can provide MSMEs with a sizeable return on their investment.

Formal and informal MSMEs, which account for over 90% of all businesses worldwide and, on average, 70% of all employment and 50% of GDP, are frequently referred to as "the backbone of our economies." They play a crucial role in realizing a green recovery.

Through its Business Rewards program and other business-wide purchases of goods and services, Emirates has a long history of assisting small and medium-sized enterprises. The opportunity to showcase their goods to a large travel audience with Emirates has benefited hundreds of small and medium-sized businesses from a variety of industries, supporting their expansion plans.

These goods include things like artisan food items, single origin teas, boutique luxury spa products, and sustainable in-flight amenity kits. In the United Arab Emirates, Emirates gives SMEs priority during the tendering process and is actively committed to collaborating with government stakeholders like Dubai SME in locating companies and routinely assessing the performance of active suppliers.
