As the coronavirus epidemic continues to hit the global aviation industry hard, Etihad Airways adds more routes to its list of suspended services including Maldives, India, Russia and Sri Lanka.
Services have been temporarily adjusted to the Maldives by reducing to daily from 23 March until 30 April. "This is being carried out for the safety and convenience of its customers and staff, and to minimize operational disruption during this period."
While all flights have been temporarily suspended in India and Russia, in flights to Sri Lanka were reduced from twice-daily to daily from 29 March until 30 April and in Kazakhstan, reduced to one per week from 19 March until 31 March and all flights suspended from 1 April until 30 April.
Azerbaijan, Bahrain, China, Hong Kong, Egypt, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Korea, KSA, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Philippines, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, Sudan, Switzerland, Thailand, and Turkey were already on the list and services to these destinations have been temporarily suspended or reduced.
"Due to the spread of the Covid-19 novel coronavirus and its continuing impact on air travel services globally, Etihad Airways continues to follow UAE and international government and regulatory authority directives and has implemented a series of consolidated network changes,” stated the flag carrier of the UAE.
