Juan Serrano joins the team of The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands on 1st May, as the Executive Assistant Manager. The Spaniard brings in 11-years of experience in the hospitality industry and has progressively taken up senior positions throughout his career.
A holder of a Bachelor in Business Administration and Swiss Hotel Management Diploma from Les Roches Marbella Hotel Management School, Juan Serrano started his career in Spain, where he first joined the The Ritz-Carlton brand in 2009 as Guest Service Agent at The Ritz-Carlton Arts, Barcelona and later joined The Ritz-Carlton Abama, Tenerife as Housekeeping Supervisor.
In 2014, Juan relocated to China with Mandarin Oriental Sanya where he held different positions before transferring as Guest Relations Manager to The Mandarin Oriental Shanghai, Pudong. Juan then returned to The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Financial Street as Guest Experience Manager.
Juan continued to expand his hospitality experience throughout China, when he joined the pre-opening team of the ultra-luxury Bulgari Hotel Beijing as Guest Experience Manager and contributed to its successful launch and positioning. Juan was subsequently promoted to Assistant Director of Rooms Division (119 Rooms including 41 suites) that covers Front of the House, Housekeeping, Spa & Fitness, Security and Quality Assurance.
Shaped by the Maldivian sun and shored by the Indian Ocean, The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Island features a selection of guest villas ranging in size from one to three bedrooms, all appointed with the ultimate in luxury that defines the Ritz-Carlton name worldwide. The 100-villa resort, crafted by Kerry Hill Architects is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2020.
