With the aim of supporting artists for their work and to elevate Hulhumale’ City as a tourist hub, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has launched ‘Thasveeru: Maldives Through Art’ Exhibition at Hulhumale’ Central Park where children’s activities also took place.
The event was graced by the COO & Managing Director at MMPRC, Thoyyib Mohamed and the Managing Director of HDC, Suhail Ahmed, along with other officials from the organizations.
During the ceremony, MMPRC presented a token to HDC, symbolizing the handover of the exhibition stands in which the artists will be able to display their work in the future at Central Park. HDC will continue to administer the exhibition through the end of the year.
Following the handover, the officials were given a tour of the exhibition follows by MMPRC hosted children’s activities.
The exhibition contains of 12 winning pieces of the “Thasveeru: Maldives Through Art” competition, held in collaboration with the Maldivian Artist Community from July 15th to August 15th, 2021.
The Thasveeru art competition was initially introduced as part of Visit Maldives' social media initiatives to promote the resort as a top choice for travelers in the worldwide market and to improve engagement on Visit Maldives' social media platforms.
The competition gave local artists the opportunity to express the destination's awe-inspiring beauty and natural ecosystems.
