First Marriott Maldives Cocktail Competition to be Hosted by Ritz-Carlton Maldives

The first Marriott Maldives Cocktail Competition has officially begun, and The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands is happy to announce it. This opulent resort will host bartenders from all of the Marriott properties located in the Maldives on July 20, 2022.

In order to create their signature cocktails, inspired by Maldivian flavors, for an afternoon to remember, representatives from Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa, Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa, JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa W Maldives, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort, The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, and The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands will put their skills to use.

This two-part competition will be held at Eau Bar and La Locanda, two of the resort's seven restaurants and bars. Guests and celebrity judge Colin Chia, the winner of the Iconic Hospitality Award 2022 and a well-known bartender from Nutmeg & Clove, based in Singapore, will choose the best cocktails!

According to Marco Barsotti, Director of Beverages for The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, "This is the first cocktail collaboration amongst all Marriott properties." Barsotti is eager to establish Maldives as a destination known for its local flavors in both food and drinks. This event builds on the resort's Behind the Bar initiative, which had its debut event in 2021 and was the first to bring exceptional gastronomic experiences to the novel Fari Islands' concept.

Each residency has debuted some of the most popular drinks in the world, some with a twist, and will include special masterclasses for guests to build an impressive cocktail collection to take home. Following the competition, Colin Chia will take over the resort on July 21 and 22 for a new episode of Behind the Bar.
