The Sri Lankan commercial airline, FitsAir is all set to make a debut in the Maldivian skies with the announcement of commencing scheduled flights to the tropical paradise. Flight operations between Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Colombo and Velena International Airport (VIA) in Hulhule’ will start from October 10th onwards.
The airline will operate three weekly flights to VIA, every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Currently tickets are now being sold on the website for the new destination. The passenger flights will be operated using the commercial class aircrafts of A320, housing a capacity of 180 passengers at a time. The airline will also be flying to Dubai from BIA effective from 5th October 2022 with three daily flights each week.
Along with scheduled passenger flights, FitsAir also caters for international cargo flights as well. During the unprecedented times of the Covid-19 pandemic, the airline had operated to the Maldives to deliver essential commodities.
Founded in 1997, Fits Air flies to several cities in South India and within Sri Lanka and is now onboarding popular travel destinations to its global network such as the Maldives and Dubai. Based in Colombo, Sri Lanka the airline operates under the slogan ‘Your Friend in the Skies’.
