Yesterday, PSM Maldives announced the new cooking show on twitter, revealing that MasterChef Maldives is ready to air this year on TV.

After 3 seasons of the franchise show Idol, this is the next big reality show in the country.

MasterChef is an American competitive cooking reality TV show based on the original British series of the same name, open to amateur and home chefs.

Regardless of the advanced tourism industry, Maldives faces the issue of lack of culinary artists. Even in resorts, most chefs are foreigners. With MasterChef, it’s expected that this field will show progress and the benefits will reflect on the employment in tourism industry.
