On June 14, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort brought its wellness philosophy to life in celebration of Global Wellness Day. Located in the Maldives' Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the resort offered guests a day filled with thoughtful, nature-inspired activities rooted in its signature wellness pillars: Feel Well, Eat Well, Sleep Well, Move Well, and Play Well.
The day began with a special excursion to nearby Anhenfushi Island, home to the Maldivian Mermaid Hydroponic Farm. Known for its focus on health, freshness, and environmental awareness, the farm welcomed guests for a guided tour through its flourishing beds of leafy greens, fruits, and vegetables. The Westin’s culinary team then hosted a live cooking session, preparing nutritious dishes using organic island-grown ingredients. A colourful Farmer’s Market setup wrapped up the experience, giving guests a chance to take home the best of local produce.
Returning to the resort, a full line-up of wellness activities continued the celebration. Morning started with Sunrise Yoga, a calming session to align mind and body. In the afternoon, the energy picked up with Water Volleyball and beach fitness activities open to all ages. Guests also had the chance to try a traditional Boreh Making Class, crafting natural scrubs using spices like turmeric and clove. As evening approached, the day ended with a tranquil Night Meditation on the arrival jetty, set to the soft sounds of the sea.
To extend the experience beyond the island, the resort released a video on Instagram (@thewestinmaldives), capturing the essence of the day — a journey through the senses, nature, and self-discovery.
For The Westin Maldives, Global Wellness Day is more than a celebration — it’s a reflection of their ongoing commitment to accessible and meaningful well-being.
