OBLU NATURE Helengeli by SENTIDO, working alongside TGI Maldives and Divernet—one of the longest-running diving media platforms—has launched a captivating marine photo exhibition to celebrate Women’s Dive Month in partnership with PADI.
The exhibition features rare underwater photos taken by acclaimed photographer and writer Richard Aspinall during his recent stay at the resort. Aspinall, who hails from the Scottish Borders, has a solid background in wildlife conservation and ecology. His collection reveals the rich biodiversity of Helengeli’s coral reefs, including striking images of moray eels, elegant whitetip reef sharks, vibrant blue-line snappers, and clown triggerfish.
The launch was marked by the presence of seven international female journalists, along with TGI Maldives Operations Manager Greta Marcelli, General Manager Alain Trefois, and the OBLU NATURE Helengeli operations team.
“There is something truly magical about Helengeli. The reef is alive with untold stories. The marine life is phenomenal, and the energy of this island is unmatched. This exhibition, thoughtfully curated by our team, captures that essence—blending the wonders of the ocean with a message of empowerment. We are sincerely grateful to Richard Aspinall and Divernet for their remarkable imagery and collaboration in bringing this exhibition to life,” shared General Manager Alain Trefois.
In 2023, the resort earned the PADI® Outstanding Contribution to Female Diving award. In July 2024, it hosted ten international female journalists for scuba diving experiences as part of PADI Women’s Dive Day celebrations.
Building on this momentum, OBLU NATURE Helengeli has officially launched the 2025 International PADI Women’s Dive Month in partnership with TGI Maldives and ELE|NA Ayur Spa. This programme offers women a blend of scuba diving and wellness activities throughout July, promoting confidence, connection, and calm both underwater and on land.
