We’ve all been there. That irresistible urge to eat something awfully tasty yet unhealthy. These 4 tricks can help you control your intake of tempting foods.

1. Reducing the availability

Although it might sound weird, some people lock up their snacks to stop eating them. Making these foods unavailable or difficult to access could prevent consumption. Another way is to simply choose a shop or a supermarket with limited choices to avoid buying tempting foods.

2. Mental strategies

The point is to convince yourself and people can have their own way of doing this. For example, some people allow themselves to have treats but actively plan a certain time to have it. Others forbid themselves from eating it.

3. Exercise

Exercising can reduce your hunger and desire to eat tempting foods. Moreover, it stops some people from eating too much as they didn’t want to “undo their good work”.

4. Change formulation of meals

Plan meals for a particular time and prepare your own food. This way, you would be able to choose the ingredients going into a meal, the portion size, and the time to eat it.
