IMTMAir comes to life with the opening ceremony of The International Maldives Travel Market (IMTM) 2021 Virtual Fair. The in-house virtual platform is fully fledged with features that will allow international participants to remain seamlessly connected with local operators in the Maldives throughout the exhibition.
Happening from October 26 – 28, this fourth edition on IMTM Fair was inaugurated by the Minister of Tourism, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom. Encouraging the industry stakeholders to work together to maintain the ongoing successful revival of the industry, Minister stated that though the global competition is high, the Maldives will have an advantage if we can ensure that our services and products keep getting better.
Minister Mausoom appreciated IMTM for providing a global arena for stakeholders to network via the exhibition, and highlighted the development of new diversifies component, where tourism is taken to its people creating a unique cultural experience for the tourists.
The opening ceremony was graced by special invitees, partners, and participants, including The High Commissioner of Bangladesh in the Maldives, His Excellency Rear Admiral Nazmul Hassan and The Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed.
IMTM 2021 is aimed at being a cost-effective experience, prioritizing the satisfaction of our users with full flexibility, said the Managing Director of IMTM, Ms. Shiuna Khalid. In this regard, the involvement of the local community with participation from local accommodation providers such as guesthouses in the event increases the competitiveness in the market. This inclusivity at IMTM 2021 gives a boost the local community through the success in Maldives’ tourism, through rural tourism development.
IMTM 2021’s main objective is to equip stakeholders with a tool to Reconnect, Revive, and Grow through mutuality.
