Janice Vigo Appointed as New Director of Spa at Vakkaru Maldives

Indian Ocean’s leading resort, Vakkaru Maldives has announced the appointment of Janice Vigo as the new Director of Spa at the timeless property. As part of her new role, Janice will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations at the spa including staff training, treatments and retail, fitness facilities as well as all wellness programmes and yoga & meditation.

Janice brings extensive knowledge, experience, and expertise to her position having worked in the luxury spa and hospitality industry for more than 17 years. She gained valuable insight into spa and wellness management after fulfilling numerous roles in renowned luxury properties including One & Only Kanuhura Maldives, Constance Ephelia Seychelles, Fregate Island Private Seychelles by Oetker Collection and Babylon Warwick Hotel Baghdad. Prior to joining the team at Vakkaru Maldives, Janice held senior positions at Six Senses Laamu Maldives.

With two diplomas in Spa Start-up Management from the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (CIBTAC) and Spa Management from Raison d’Etre Spa & Wellness Consultancy, Janice is also certified in Oncology Massage for Cancer, Bentosa Fire Glass Cupping, Bamboo Massage, Ayurvedic Massage, Facials, Body Treatments and Singing Bowls. Adding to her stellar resume’, she has logged 200 hours in the RYT Hatha Yoga Teacher’s Training and has worked with several international spa product brands such as Pevonia Botanica, Shiseido, Subtle Energy and Organic Pharmacy. Moreover, she is also skilled in various spa-related software, making her a valuable addition to the team.
