JW Marriott Maldives Partners with KORRES for Reef-Safe Summer Experience

This July, JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa introduces a meaningful collaboration with Greek skincare brand KORRES to encourage mindful travel and ocean conservation. Set on the peaceful island of Vagaru in Shaviyani Atoll, the resort continues its focus on sustainability by providing reef-safe sun care products and immersive experiences tied to marine preservation.
As part of the partnership, guests will receive complimentary KORRES Yoghurt Sunscreen Emulsion SPF 50 and Yoghurt Sun Care for the Face SPF 30 upon arrival. These products are free from harmful chemicals like oxybenzone and octinoxate, which are known to contribute to coral bleaching. The formulations, infused with natural Greek yoghurt and designed for sensitive skin, support both personal wellness and environmental protection.
Throughout the resort, guests can find KORRES product stations at locations such as Horizon Pool, Pool 18, and the beach cabanas. Visitors are encouraged to exchange their chemical-based sunscreens for reef-safe alternatives, combining thoughtful guest service with environmental responsibility. Marriott Bonvoy Elite members will also receive KORRES sun care products during evening turndown service as part of the resort’s commitment to conscious luxury.
The resort’s House Reef Snorkeling Excursion, guided by the resident marine biologist, offers guests a chance to explore the rich biodiversity of Shaviyani Atoll. Participants engage in conversations about reef conservation and responsible ocean practices, and receive KORRES sunscreen as a takeaway to support ongoing protection efforts.
Beyond this partnership, JW Marriott Maldives incorporates sustainability across all operations. The resort’s JW Garden is maintained with 100% organic fertilizer and manual irrigation, supplying fresh, locally grown produce for its culinary offerings.
