Kuda Villingili Maldives Receives Best Designed Wine List in Asia 2023 Accolade

Kuda Villingili, a luxurious property in North Male’ Atoll has been recognized for having one of the best designed wine lists in Asia in the annual awards of The World of Fine Wine. This accolade further strengthens the resort’s positioning as a preferred holiday destination for discerning wine connoisseurs worldwide.
The Kuda Villingili resort was honoured with the Best Designed Regional Wine List in Asia for 2023 after a thorough evaluation process judged by a leading panel of the world’s top wine experts, writers and sommeliers. In each edition of the awards, this prestigious title is met with highly esteemed competition from establishments all over the world. As such, wine lists from various regions across the globe are rigorously scrutinized to select elite winners that showcase excellence, innovation, and the true embodiment of the spirit of fine wine in their cellar listings.

During the first few editions of the World’s Best Wine Lists, the presented categories centered on the ambition, innovation, and passion of the restauranteur or sommelier to curate interesting and varied wine lists. However, by studying hundreds of wine lists each year, the judges soon realized that one aspect significantly affected the ability of a guest to enjoy the wine selections more: the design of the wine list itself. The appearance, clarity, and navigability of the wine list became more valued, elevating its status as the Achilles heel of otherwise good or great lists.
The Global category winners of the World’s Best Wine List awards are yet to be unveiled. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at Glaziers Hall in London on September 11, 2023, where one exceptional entry will be distinguished as the Wine List of the Year.
