Kuramathi Maldives Welcomes New General Manager Bert Goebel

Kuramathi Maldives is excited to announce the appointment of Bert Goebel as its new General Manager. With nearly 30 years of experience in high-end hotels, resorts, and cruise ship industries, Bert brings a wealth of knowledge and a global perspective to lead the Kuramathi team.

Bert's impressive career began in 1989 as a chef, and he has since held prestigious roles worldwide. His journey includes serving as an Executive Chef in renowned hotels across Europe and Asia, transitioning to the international cruising sector in 1996, and holding top management positions at five- and six-star properties globally. He holds an MBA in Hospitality and Tourism and a Master’s Degree in Culinary Arts from the Steigenberger Hotel School in Germany.

Bert’s extensive experience spans several countries and continents. Notably, he has held influential roles such as Vice President of Global Hotel Operations at Scenic Group in Zurich, General Manager at Sandals Resorts in various Caribbean Islands, and Director/General Manager at Oceania Cruise Lines in Miami. His previous experience as Cluster General Manager in the Maldives has equipped him with a deep understanding of diverse hospitality environments and a unique perspective on global trends.

In his new role, Bert looks forward to fostering a culture of genuine care and connection with both guests and team members. Outside of work, Bert is an avid traveler and foodie who enjoys exploring new cultures and culinary experiences. His hobbies include swimming, biking, scuba diving, running, and spending quality time with his family. Bert also has a keen interest in modern architecture and contemporary design, reflecting his broad and dynamic interests.
