JEN Maldives Male by Shangri-La is one of the most coveted hotels in the city offering business and leisure travelers an ideal stop-over in the hub of the destination. Innovative in its approach, the hotel has recently launched cooking classes for kids in an initiative titled ‘Little Chefs in the Making’.
The new introduction opens up the exciting opportunity for kids with a keen interest in cooking to interact with and learn from the Master Chefs at JEN. The skilled line-up of chefs have created a series of fun hands-on classes for the little chefs, allowing the children to learn valuable skills in a safe environment and teaching them the basics, starting from proper hand washing.
The first class took place during the weekend from August 7 – 8 at the prime dining outlets in JEN. It was dedicated to the culinary art of pizza-making, a winner with kids and adults alike! Little participants learnt how to make dough with Chef de Cuisine, Mr. Prabu Vijayan and his team, who detailed the correct measurements of ingredients, a thrilling chance to stretch their own dough like a pro, and add toppings too. The most notable of activities was watching the pizza bubble away in the oven, ready in a jiffy to be finally taken home and enjoyed in the great company of their families.
The successful start marks JEN’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative in line with the International Youth Day 2021 activities under the theme s ‘Transforming food systems, youth innovation’.
