A management agreement was signed by Mandarin Oriental for a new luxury resort in the Maldives which is scheduled to open in 2025.
The resort is currently under development in Bolidhuffaru Reef in the South Male Atoll and will stretch across three private islands.
The resort will be accessible via a 20-minute speedboat ride from Male’s Velana International Airport and will comprise of 120 stand-alone villas, made up of 56 overwater villas and 64 beachfront villas, as well as 10 branded Residences at Mandarin Oriental.
The villas are said to range from 200 to 1,000 square meters, which will be some of the biggest villas in the Maldives to date. They will also feature private pools and beautiful ocean views.
There is said to be a total of 6 dining outlets, featuring 3 specialty restaurants and a sunset bar. They are ensuring the guests have a variety of choices when it comes to venues to wine and dine at during their stay.
On the wellness front, there will be 12 treatment suites, vitality pools, sauna, and steam rooms as well as a beauty salon. All of it will be located in the resort's tropical garden.
And of course, for leisure, watersports and dive center, tennis courts, a kids and teens club, a swimming pool and numerous private coves and beaches are guaranteed to be there.

The site is being developed by DAMAC Properties, which is part of Dubai-based DAMAC Group, one of the world’s leading luxury real estate developers.
