Making Maldives a ‘Top of the Mind’ Destination in the French Market

France is currently the 7th highest performing market to the Maldives, making it a key region in the Visit Maldives marketing campaigns. Scheduled to be conducted every quarter of the year, the second in a series of webinar sessions for the French travel trade has concluded on Tuesday.

The aim of this webinar series is to promote Maldives as a desirable post-pandemic travel destination in the minds of the French travel enthusiasts by educating travel agents from the region. Topics covered include highlights of the authentic and experiences in the Maldives, with emphasis on the safety measures taken across all touch points within the destination. It also talks of the diverse activities, accommodation and adventures available in the Maldives.

Apart from the destination presentation, Reethi Beach, Pullman Maldives Maamutaa and Grand Park Kodhipparu participated in the session and talked about their product on offer respective to the theme. In order to make the session more interactive, a quiz was held and the winner was awarded a free holiday to Maldives sponsored by Reethi Beach.

Every webinar is conducted based on a certain theme, this session being about ‘Romantic Getaways in Maldives’. Other major activities planned for the year targeting the French market include partnership with Tour Operator Amplitudes, Social and Digital Media campaign with Odigeo, Media familiarization Trips and participation at the International French Travel Market (IFTM Top Resa) and International Luxury Travel Mart (ILTM). Several of these activities will commence once the French government eases travel restrictions for travelers.
