Maldivers – Sharing Magic From Beneath the Waves

Sunday 21st of March 2021

When you think of the Maldives, it is inevitable not to think about the fact that we are surrounded by 99% water. Can you imagine – a whole sea of marvels makes up our backyards! Gushing currents making up waves on the surface, wonderful creatures gliding through beneath it. Without a doubt, it is the ocean adventure junkies who will be the most excited about having a once-in-lifetime dive in the Maldives.

Since the 70s and the beginning of tourism in the Maldives, the nation become famous worldwide as the ultimate dive destination and our abundant marine beauty put us on the world map. The weather stays tropically warm all year round, making it a blessing to dive into the underwater realms at any given time.

In 1999, a group of passionate divers came together with the sole purpose of wanting to share their experience from below sea level with as many guests as possible. Their love for the flora and fauna in the Maldivian seas led to the establishment of Maldivers. Though they were operating out of Male’ for over a decade since they opened, calm and serene island life turned out to be their true calling.

Baa Atoll in the Maldives is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, protecting a plethora of marine life and phenomena that can only be described as majestic events one cannot find anywhere else. Maalhos Island is a small gem in the south of the Atoll, surrounded by a panorama of white sandy shores and lush vegetation on the island. Maldivers now operate their dive center in Maalhos, offering the highest standards of diving courses, diving safe gear and equipment and tours as well. Their facility is also equipped with a seating and lounging area and a classroom that has a collection of materials related to diving, to help their guests with the learning experience.

The team at Maldivers believes that the experience of diving should not only be fun and exciting but also educational and felt with the heart. One of the most special services you can get from Maldivers is the limited number group tours that they arrange to dive sites that are not too famed, but maybe even more captivating than the rest.

Maalhos region in Baa Atoll alone houses 35 unique dive sites, and many more unnamed sites are teeming with marine life, just waiting to be explored. In addition, the world famous Manta Ray aggregation site in Hanifaru Bay is just a short boat ride away. Maldivers gives priority to maintaining small numbers in their group tours because the crew enjoys building a relationship with their guests and devoting their dive to ensuring that the experience is wholesome and memorable, something that will last with the guests forever.

In addition to guided tours, guests have different types of dives that they can book with Maldivers on a daily basis. They range from House Reef Dives to Full Day trips to some amazing locations out far, and night snorkels for those who are thrilled by the dark. If you are a newbie to the whole experience, Maldivers lets you have a hint of taste of diving for free and you can decide how comfortable you are with it before indulging in the real deal.

Maldivers is a Scuba School International (SSI) dive center where guests can also sign up for beginner, advanced, professional, and special diving programs with experienced and certified divers. Their second outlet in Dhiffushi Island is opening soon allowing easy access to some of the best dive sites in North Male’ Atoll. These include some enticing Manta Cleaning Stations, Soft coral filled thila, and long reefs which makes spectacular drift drives and many more. If you are coming to Dhiffushi from April onwards, make sure to drop by!
