Maldives Head To OTM Mumbai To Increase Destination Presence In The Indian Market

Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and 64 industry representatives are attending OTM Mumbai, one of India’s most premium travel trade events. Held at Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai from the 2nd-4th of February, the event provides a valuable space for MMPRC and industry partners to showcase the destination, its unique products and experiences and connect with the Indian travel trade.

The exclusive 3-day event addressed the business-to-business travel mart and is one of the largest congregations of travel trade buyers and professionals hosted in India. Both exhibitors and visitors are given the opportunity to meet travel trade partners from India and beyond, and strengthen existing business relations while putting forward mutually beneficial relations for all parties.

MMPRC’s main target for the event is to connect with the travel trade from the Indian Market, share the destination’s most recent updates and exhibit our products, services and experiences to consolidate destination presence in India. Moreover, industry partners can also promote their individual products and properties to the Indian market, putting the Maldives as a top-of-the-mind destination for all holidaymakers in all travel segments.

At the Maldives stand, a special raffle draw event will take place during the fair, where 2 lucky winners will be awarded a free holiday in the Maldives, sponsored by Adaaran Club Rannalhi and Furaveri Maldives respectively. Visitors need only fill out a survey form at the Maldives stand to participate in the raffle draws. Besides this, the Maldives stand also features a 360 video booth, where visitors can experience the Maldives using innovative technology. They can also take pictures and videos while posing against the picturesque backdrop of the Maldives.

India remained the top source market for the Maldives last year, welcoming 241,369 arrivals by 31st December 2022 which accounted for 14.4% of the total market share. To maintain destination momentum in the market, MMPRC carried out many promotional events in the region last year with a lot more similar activities planned for the year 2023 as well.
