With the reopening of the borders as of July 15th, tourists have been entitled to many offers and promotions from each and every resort in the Maldives, and the incredible results of that can now be seen from the number of tourist arrivals as of August 2020 in the Maldives.
According to Maldives Immigration, the month of August welcomed a total of 7628 tourist arrivals in the Maldives and the top scorers of that month were United Arab Emirates (UAE), United Kingdom (UK) and the United States, (US) with 1627 UAE tourists, 715 UK tourists and 674 US tourists.
The average number of tourists since the border reopening has shown a significant increase as July comprised of an average of 100 tourists per day and August comprised of around double the average as of July, with 218 tourists per day.
In addition, a significant comparison is evident between the maximum number of tourists that arrived to Maldives on a single day in July and August, with July having 218 tourist arrivals on a single day, while August had a delightful welcome of over 373 tourist arrivals on a single day.
A reasonable number of tourists from some other countries also visited the Maldives, with 513 tourists from Spain, 423 from Russian federation, 306 from Germany, 301 from France, 252 from Ukraine, 179 from Egypt and 168 from Brazil.
The total number of tourists in July were 1769, but as of August, this number has quadrupled to 7628 and on October, Maldives is expecting further arrival of tourists since more resorts will be allowed to reopen.
