'Dhevi Hifaafa' - Maldives' First Surf Magazine Out Now!

“Dhevi Hifaafa” was launched at a ceremony held on 2nd September 2020 and took the name of being the first local surf magazine of Maldives. The event was held at the Head Office of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Cooperation (MMPRC).

The name “Dhevi Hifaafa” translates as “addiction” in English, depicting the passion and desire that flows through Maldivian surfers, thereby making this the right word to justify.

The masterminds behind this exclusive magazine are Nahshal Nasir and Amir Amin Didi, both surfers who bring their different experiences together to explore and deliver news about surfing in the Maldives through various mediums.

The magazine aims to document and archive the long and rich history of surfing in the Maldives by providing opportunities to explore various activities such as nurture journalism, photography, videography and other surf-related activities.

The magazine aspires to create a community and incite dialogue and debate for environmental awareness as well as supporting local brands by promoting their endeavours.

Dhevi Hifaafa is an annual publication, which is available for free through their website. This first issue is now available for download and as for printed publications, they will be available at selected outlets across Male’ from next week.
