Maldives Reopens Participation for Asian Tourism Fair 2024

Saturday 27th of July 2024

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), in collaboration with the National Hotel and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NHGAM), has announced the reopening of participation for the highly anticipated 11th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) 2024. The event is scheduled to take place from September 19th to 21st, 2024, at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

ATF 2024 serves as a premier platform for Pan-Asian tourism collaboration, bringing together a diverse array of stakeholders, including adventure tourism companies, airlines, amusement parks, hotels, and national tourism organizations. The reopening of participation aims to accommodate a broader audience interested in showcasing their offerings at this prestigious event.

The fair coincides with World Tourism Day, adding an extra layer of excitement and prestige. Beyond the core tourism trade exhibition, ATF 2024 will feature a variety of engaging side events. Attendees can look forward to insightful seminars, workshops, skill development conventions, a vibrant cultural program, and a photo exhibition. For those interested in responsible tourism, a dedicated Community-Based Tourism Mart (CBT Mart) will highlight sustainable travel options, ensuring there is something for everyone.

MMPRC plans to actively engage in these side events to highlight the diverse aspects of Maldivian tourism. This participation reflects the organization's dedication to strengthening its presence in Asian markets and fostering closer ties with tourism industry stakeholders. The goal is to present a comprehensive picture of the Maldivian tourism experience to the Asian travel trade and beyond.

Previous editions of ATF have successfully brought together representatives from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan, and many other countries, underscoring the event's regional significance. By participating in ATF for the first time, Visit Maldives aims to build on this legacy and expand its reach within the Asian tourism market.

Interested participants can complete the application process via the Members Portal (members.visitmaldives.com) before 1500 hours on Thursday, 25th July 2024. Co-exhibitor registration will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis, limited to available slots. It is essential to ensure membership renewal or registration for 2024 is complete to be eligible for participation in upcoming events.

With its pristine beaches, luxurious resorts, and vibrant marine life, the Maldives is set to captivate audiences at ATF 2024, reinforcing its status as a premier destination for travelers worldwide. The event promises to be a significant step forward in promoting sustainable and responsible tourism in the Maldives and the broader Asian region.
