The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has teamed up with the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) and the National Hotel and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NGHAM) to promote the Maldives at the Asian Tourism Fair (ATF-Dhaka) 2024. This strategic collaboration aims to strengthen tourism development and boost arrivals from the emerging Bangladeshi outbound market.
Together, MMPRC, MATATO, and NGHAM will curate a Maldives stand at ATF-Dhaka, showcasing a diverse range of products and services from the country’s world-class resorts, hotels, guesthouses, and tour operators. The stand will highlight the Maldives’ pristine natural beauty, rich marine life, and exceptional hospitality, providing a platform to promote the Maldives' local tourism offerings.
“One of the key objectives for MMPRC this year is to explore new markets and segments,” said Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of MMPRC. “We believe that MATATO joining MMPRC and NGHAM will enable us to more effectively showcase the Maldives as a preferred holiday destination in the promising Bangladeshi market.”
ATF-Dhaka, scheduled for September 19-21, 2024, at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, is a premier platform for industry stakeholders to network, collaborate, and explore new business opportunities. With Bangladesh being a relatively new market for the Maldives tourism industry, the fair presents a significant opportunity to showcase the unique offerings of the destination and attract a larger share of tourists from Bangladesh and the South Asian region.
The collaboration between MATATO, MMPRC, and NGHAM signifies a concerted effort to tap into the Bangladeshi market, which holds substantial potential for growth. By presenting the Maldives' unique attractions at ATF-Dhaka, the partners aim to position the Maldives as a top holiday destination for Bangladeshi tourists.
The Maldives stand at ATF-Dhaka will not only feature luxurious resorts and hotels but also emphasize the wide range of experiences available in the Maldives. From underwater adventures and vibrant marine life to the warm hospitality of the local people, the stand aims to provide a comprehensive view of what makes the Maldives a unique and attractive destination.
With this strategic move, the Maldives is set to capture the interest and imagination of Bangladeshi travelers, contributing to the overall growth and diversification of its tourism industry.
