Coming to this paradisial haven is the highly motivated Nihal Sevuk, who has been appointed as the new Director of Revenue at the resort. Nihal is here to take the resort to new heights with her enthusiasm and knowledge in the field of revenue.
Nihal completed her undergraduate studies in Tourism Administration at University of Bogazici located in Turkey. She quickly followed her degree with a Master’s in Business Administration at University of Suffolk in the UK. Always passionate about learning more about her field, she even completed various certificates related to Revenue Management and Leadership from University of Cornell.
Her career took flight in the United Arab Emirates where she worked with several high-class hotels and resorts in managing their commercial teams. Some of the famed establishments which saw her contributions include Rove Hotels, Wyndham and Millenium. In 2018, Nihal shifted her career to Maldives and initially worked at Dusit Thani Maldives as their Director of Revenue before stepping in as Cluster Director of Revenue for the Banyan Tree group hotels & resorts.
She now brings 15 years of experience to The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives where she will diligently work in supervising the revenue management and distribution strategy of the resort. In doing so, she hopes to bring many improvements to the culture and performance at The Standard through her operation and optimization skills.
Speaking about this exciting appointment General Manager at The Standard, Jesper Soerensen remarked that he is elated to welcome Nihal to the resort at a time where the popularity of Standard is growing both locally and globally. He further added that the resort is continuously striving to elevate guest experiences through their diverse approach to visitors and with Nihal, they can continue to augment the overall experiences while improving their practices to become a sustainable and wellness centered resort.
