The resort is home to an efficient waste management system built around the concept of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. They are even responsible in the purchase and usage of supplies and aims to reduce plastic waste in the resort. Furthermore, by adopting an organized waste collection and segregation process, the resort was able to recycle 75% of their waste. The few remaining wastes are then disposed in an eco-friendly way that poses little harm to the environment.
Say No To single use plastic
If you happen to stay in Ozen Reserve Bolifushi you will notice that the resort does not have any plastic water bottles lying around. This is because the resort produces its own water bottles through the water bottling plant located in the island. The decision to adopt this plant have immensely contributed to lower the use of plastic bottles in day-to-day operations thus, limiting the number that may have ended up in the oceans.
At the plant, strict hygienic protocols are followed to deliver the best quality of water. The technology of reverse osmosis and desalination is utilized to produce water that is clean and green! Special machines designed for sterilization is used to sterilize bottles for use and are routinely sealed after every usage.
Going green below the surface
At Ozen Reserve Bolifushi, the staff are dedicated to protect the marvelous ecosystems that live under the surface. Special attention is given to educate and aware staff and guests alike about the environmental dangers that are growing for our ecosystems and the importance of preserving the local biospheres and culture.

Along with this, the resort is also implementing many energy-saving paths such as using LED lighting and low energy appliances. They even have time-control usage policies which minimizes energy usage in the resort.
