LUX* South Ari Atoll have revealed their newest internal promotions with both local and foreign names taking over the culinary and F&B landscape of the resort.
Hussain Niyaz – Assistant Director of F&B
Hailing from the tropical isles of Maldives, Niyaz began his Food & Beverage journey in 2001 as a waiter in Four Seasons Kuda Huraa. Afterwards, he swiftly built his career in F&B and have worked in multiple esteemed resort properties in the Tourism Industry. This includes One & Only Reethi Rah and Finolhu where Niyaz played a vital role in the pre-openings of the resort. His contributions to LUX* South Ari Atoll commenced in 2020, where he led the entire F&B Service team and supervised an impressive number of dining facilities including 8 restaurants and 5 bars. Through this, his management skills and attention to detail were recognized and he is now the Assistant Director of F&B at the resort.
Ishan Mark Anthony Perera- Executive Chef
Originating from Sri Lanka, Mark has always shown a keen interest in the use of healthy organic produce in cooking. With his passion for food and enthusiasm for service, Mark was able to combine his interests by starting a career in the Hospitality Industry. Over the years, Mark has worked in many luxury brands around the world and contributed to numerous pre-opening properties. However, he has always wanted to work in the Maldives and to make this dream a reality joined the LUX* Ari Atoll in 2018 as an Executive Pastry Chef. After only four years of joining the team, his exceptional leadership earned him the title of Execute Chef in 2022. He now leads the resort’s culinary creatives while showcasing the Keen on Green initiative of the resort through well curated dishes.
Sangeeth Ambadi- Food & Beverage Manager
Belonging to our neighbouring country, India, Sangeeth started out as a bartender at the resort in 2015. From his early days at the resort, it was evident that his knowledge of operations and leadership qualities will take him far in his career. The first testimony to this claim came two years after, when Sangeeth was appointed as F&B Supervisor in the resort. He soon climbed the ladder further and became Assistant F&B Manager at LUX* in 2019. Now he heads the F&B team as the Manager of F&B through his continuous advocate for perfection and support for island operations.
Daminda Sanjeewa Hereth Bandarage- Assistant Food & Beverage Manager
Daminda, hailing from Sri Lanka first joined the resort in 2008 as a bartender. His strong belief in the resort’s brand purpose “to help people celebrate life” ascertained that he delivered the utmost service to guests in his bar, resulting in his promotion to Head Bartender in 2011. His highly motivated and committed personality paved way for several promotions in his decade of service and landed him his current title of Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at the resort.
