MMPRC Collabs With Travel Daily Media To Escalate Brand Visibility For Maldives In The SEA Market

Saturday 23rd of July 2022

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has collaborated with Travel Daily Media to improve brand visibility for the Maldives in the South-East Asia (SEA) market. This campaign will take place from July till September 2022 and aims to bring sky-high attention to the Maldives while preserving destination presence and designating Maldives as the leading destination in the SEA market.

Travel Daily Media is an online platform that publicizes travel and hospitality industry news, opinions and analysis to travel professionals. With active subscribers from different parts of Asia, Europe, USA and Middle East, a large proportion of the audience comprises of travel experts from various sectors in the Industry such as MICE, aviation, hospitality, cruising and technology.

With the purpose of raising brand awareness and brand visibility for the Maldives, the campaign also targets to exhibit the distinctive features of the Maldives as a destination. Travel Daily Media will showcase Maldives in the form of articles published on their front page and newsletter along with social media posts shared on Facebook and banners advertised on the website and emails. Additionally, an exclusive interview by MMPRC will also be circulated on their platform as part of this campaign.

This campaign focuses on portraying Maldives as a safe destination and aims to promote the geographical isolation of the islands as a means of privacy and security. It will further enable to display the main products and experiences offered in Maldives and keep potential travelers on track with the latest information and travel guidelines regarding the country.

MMPRC is hosting this campaign in part of a marketing strategy to revive the arrival numbers to pre-pandemic levels and deconstruct the perception of Maldives as merely a honeymoon or luxury destination. This campaign came into light partly as a result of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict which has adversely affected arrival numbers from these regions. Therefore, MMPRC now strives to drive attention to other selected markets and lessen the detrimental impact to the Maldivian tourism and economy as a whole.

This year so far, Maldives has welcomed 18,489 tourists from the SEA market. Numerous measures have been taken up by MMPRC to maintain this market such as hosting webinars, participating in travel expos and fairs and joint marketing campaigns with key stakeholders in the SEA market. Further activities are lined up in the calendar for the SEA market as well, including roadshows, travel fairs and exhibitions and partnered marketing campaigns.
