Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has taken part in the NATAS Holidays 2022 fair, held in Singapore along with several industry partners. The fair which is conducted from the 12th of this August to the 14th of this month, will showcase Maldives under the theme “All Things Maldives”.
Since its debut in 1987, NATAS Travel Fairs are a prestigious event that displays various tourism products along with the best deals available in the market. Over the course of the years, this biannual event has grown in popularity among Singaporeans and is now expected to draw 2.4 million visitors this year. Brining to the fair the latest trends, products and destinations in the market, the NATAS Travel fair now houses outbound travel agents, national tourist organizations, airlines, hotels and many more under one roof.
This year, the fair will see 23 participants from 12 different companies featuring their products at the fair. Through this event, MMPRC hopes to allure visitors to the Maldives by displaying the exclusive geographical characteristics of the destination along with our products (resorts, hotels, guesthouses and liveaboards). Furthermore, MMPRC will appeal to potential travelers by revealing the various segments and special guest experiences that are awaiting at the shores of the Maldives.
By joining in this fair, MMPRC is widening their marketing strategy on the SEA market, with a strong emphasis given to Singaporean visitors. The corporation strives to promote Maldives as a favourite destination among SEA travelers while highlighting the close distance and cultural attributes of Maldives that makes it a suitable choice for them.
As for the industry partners, it provides a platform for them to feature and advertise their products. The event is done concurrently with an Outdoor Advertising Campaign in Singapore. The Campaign aims to capture the eye of a greater audience with video ads that are strategically placed in public areas of the cosmopolitan city. These places include the HDB Hub, Jurong Point and Bedok Town Square. Through these activities, MMPRC aspires to revive the pre-pandemic arrival numbers while improving the general numbers from the region as well.
In the first 7 months of this year, Maldives saw 18,489 tourists from the SEA market visiting our shores. This was done with the help of a number of activities targeting the region such as joint-campaigns, Webinars, E-learning programs and outdoor advertising campaigns. Some more events are planned for this year too including the participation in ADEX Asia 2022 and ITB Asia 2022.
